Okay. I am not sure if this is cute, hilarious, or really really scary, but this little Pyrex snowman dildo seems to be calling to me.

The class was outstanding and astounding–as is Max, and his trusty assistants, Griffin and Lorelei. I was impressed with their high-caliber professionalism–a certain sedate, intelligent, and adept approach to conveying a lot of information, and helping all the students absorb and implement it.

No small feat, especially in my case–I am lousy at learning things by listening, watching makes it easier, but really, I need to do in order to learn. So the patient and capable tutelage as we practiced the knots and ties, made everything possible for me.

I have a lot to learn and will need to spend hours practicing, I can tell, and I will be attending more of Max’s workshops. But I am happy to have this foundation from which to start.

And here’s a funny little proof that I really learned something . . . Well, in the story I am currently writing I just now needed to tie a dog to a pole, and did it using one of the things that Max taught us–the taut line hitch.

The last of my rope will be delivered to me tomorrow at class. The pre-fab rope kits for class were not what I wanted. I wanted PINK but we couldn’t get that custom order concocted. So, I went with Statutory Grape, which as it turns out, matches my new boots. Anyway. The crew at Twisted Monk are really helping me out with my color whims, and I am very, very grateful.

Just purchased the last of my things from the list: four carabiners. Because it was close by, I stopped at Second Ascent in Ballard for these last bits. I went in with my little pages printed from Max’s list on the Web, but obviously I did not know much about what I was shopping for. And there were dozens to choose from hanging on the wall behind the counter. So the boys behind the counter were all helpful and making inquires to get me the correct carabiners for my adventures. “So, how are you going to use these?” the cute boy asked.

I took a moment to consider: how much do I disclose here? and then said, “Hang people.”

“Suspension bondage,” I finished up.

And he paused for a moment then said, “Oh. We get a lot of people in here shopping for that. But most of them don’t say that’s what they are doing.” And we proceeded to choose the gear I would need.

FedEx left a little box for me yesterday.

The FORM 2 is just the size to fit in the palm of my hand. It is rather cute sitting in my hand, and I think that having it sitting there on the charging base beside the bed, is frisky sexy. (Sorry about the soft focus on JIMMYJANE; it seemed like my camera really wanted to focus on the bottle of PINK–which I wanted in the pic to give you some sense of scale.)

So, as cute and charming as it looks, here’s the bad news. As a vibrator, I am not convinced that this thing is going to rock the world the way it has been touted. I guess I am saying this at the risk of pissing off the JimmyJane folks, which would not be a good thing to do.

But. Three things.

1. I do not, and never did, understand vibrators that have action like a jack hammer. I am not one of those girls who likes to have her clit roughed up. I know there are some of you out there, some of you are my friends. But. Not me. And the FORM 2 LOW speed is plenty of vibration for me. So the next four speeds are wasted. However, if you DO like a vibrator that could shake loose the plaster on the walls, this one might be for you.
2. This device is made in PRC–which is a subtle way of saying People’s Republic of China. I generally opt out of buying things made in China, for political and safety reasons. So if JimmyJane is going to rely on Chinese factories to produce their upscale products, then please let’s do like lulumon and disclose the factory conditions and working relationships. In fairness, the FORM 2 is rechargeable and so there is no harm to our world from discarded batteries, and that means something to me. The materials comprising it are also said to be healthful. And, it has been reported that there is a Code to which the vendors are held; I need to look into this more.
3. The device is obviously molded, leaving an edgy seam all along the inside and outside of the “ears” of it. It’s not much, but it’s there. And I don’t know about you but my vulva and clit are sensitive, and this seam is a little annoying to my flesh.

On the upside, the FORM 2 is great to look at. The pink is a wonderful sassy bright color. The packaging was well thought out (I do give a lot of points for great packaging). And the online shopping transaction was easy.

I know it is just not fair to rate a vibrator after only the First Date, so I will be back after we reconvene. In the meantime, in case you are wondering, no, I did not have a notable O on our first night together.
